How to Enter

Entries for the 2008 awards are now closed

The Cornwall Business Awards are free to enter and open to any business with its head office or main business premises in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.

There are 13 categories open for entry and you may enter as many categories as you wish.

To enter for an award simply click on any of the award links at the bottom of this page, read the criteria and follow the links through to the application form.

Completing the Entry Form

The entry form consists of three parts. Part 1 is basic information about you and your company and is the same for all awards.

You can navigate between sections using the Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3  links at the top of the form.

When you have completed Part 1 you must tick the box agreeing to the terms and conditions before your entry is forwarded to Part 2.

Part 2 is where you tell us why you should win that specific award and you will need to answer some questions in detail. If you wish you can cut and paste your answers from documents you already have.

Each question will be individually scored by the judges and not all questions have the same weighting. If you do not answer a question you will fail to score any points for that question, so please write something, even if it is to explain what you have NOT done and why.

Part 3 gives you the option to upload up to two supporting documents. Simply click on ‘browse’ to locate the file on your computer.  Once you have attached the file/s click 'upload'. If you do not have any files to attach click the ‘no files' option. Files for upload should have an appropriate file name to help the judges identify them.

Please note that files larger than 1-2 MB may not upload and you may get an error message. This is not due to the upload capacity of the site. It is most likely to be that your own system connection has ‘timed out’. If you have this  problem, please try to reduce the size of the files by removing graphics etc.

Once you have completed Part 3 you will be asked to ‘review your entry’ prior to submission. This gives you the option to review or change anything prior to final submission. When you are satisfied with your entry click ‘submit’. If you do not do this at this stage, your entry will NOT have been submitted.

If your submission has been successful you will receive a message immediately and you should also receive a confirmation email within a few hours. If you do not, please check your’ junk mail or spam box’. If you still have not received confirmation then please contact the competition administrator.

‘Multiple Entries and Saving’

If you wish to start your entry and return to it again later, provided that 'cookies' are enabled on your machine it will retain the information you have entered. Provided you use the same machine, this information will re-appear when you re-enter the system.

Similarly if you want to enter more than one category, much of the information you entered for the first category will appear when you open the next category. The information in Part 1 will remain the same and you can therefore move straight in to Part 2. You may wish to retain some of the information in Part 2 also, but don’t forget to change the answers to the specific award questions. To access another category after submission, click on  the 'awards' link on the main menu.

More detailed information on this process is given at the start of the entry process, please ensure you read it carefully before starting your entry.
